This lovely photo was taken by Erica Chan at her birthday this past December. What a fun party! When I think of a guy who’s ‘old school’ I think of values, principles and a guy who isn’t afraid to live by what he believes is important and right in life. I think of a stand-up-guy […]
Here’s a sample 3 week workout that’ll add some pounds and save you some serious time in the gym. Now, the program should be pretty straight forward and all my regular principles apply:
Time is a gift – don’t waste it. In my workouts I’ll put down numbers for reps, like 10 reps in 3 sets. Please keep this in your memory: the goal is 10 reps, so choose a weight that you think you’ll fail at 10, if you fail before great! If it takes a couple more […]
Both cleans and snatch are the ultimate compound exercises working your calves, quads, glutes, traps, shoulders, triceps and I’m sure a few other muscle groups in there as well. They’re great for building mass and expanding your shoulder width beyond what ‘normal’ lifts would allow you to gain.

Here’s a workout I did the other day. It was all pushes, concentrating on chest, shoulders and triceps.
The machines in the weight room are like the water cooler in the office. It’s where everyone goes to chat and think they’re getting a workout in, except there’s probably less sweating going on at the machines than there is at the water cooler.
My Nona comes down a few times a year and brightens up our lives with every visit. She grew up in Italy and started a family during the Second World War. She’s a tough woman who’s had a hard life by many people’s standards, although she’d never look at it that way.
If you haven’t noticed I’ve been taking some time off for Christmas but I thought it would be nice to have a year end review about what I’ve learned in 2009. This year’s been a big one in the learning department. I’ve started my own business, built my own site and have started writing an […]
