Lovely. Now Give Me Something Concrete.
So far this may all sound like a bunch of metaphysical nonsense. But it isn’t intangible at all. It’s a concrete guide to accomplishing whatever you want to accomplish in your life. It’s a step-by-step, do this, then this, then this, look at what it takes to be who, and where, you want to be.
It’s the old adage, Act as if.
This credo, however, doesn’t go deep enough. We can’t merely act as if. That’s a battle we’ll lose as our surroundings discourage this believe everyday. We have to be as if. It’s not enough to copy the motions and actions of someone with the body you want, life you want, car you want, job you want. You have to be your very own version of the person worthy of the things in life that you want to have.
You have to wake up every morning as your rich, successful, jacked, shredded, Self. And never waver.
Who Am I In The Future?
Be who you want to be in the future, in the present. If you’re wondering what a guy does every day, who has a six pack year-round, do the things I do everyday, that allow me to have the body I want 365 days a year. I give you the steps every week on this site. But your fear and laziness stop you from putting those steps into actions. Or, more accurately, your belief that you’re not worthy of your ideal body stops you from being the version of yourself that will be awarded with it.
This is Exactly What I Did To Gain 32 Pounds of Ripped Muscle in 32 Weeks. If you want to get shredded, this is also who you need to be every single day.
If you want to be the guy who creates a lasting legacy, the amount of books that can serve as guidelines, offering you a roadmap to your future, are endless. Study the men and women who have accomplished what you want to accomplish. Their version of success is different from your version of success, because their “worthy Self” isn’t the same as your “worthy Self”. The “successful you” will do things differently than the “successful them”. You’re not copying them. You’re using who they are to become who you should be. Use their already travelled road as a map.
Read anything by Napoleon Hill, Steven Pressfield, or Robin Sharma (reading list here). Study the lives of Napoleon Bonaparte, Teddy Roosevelt, Steve Jobs, Andrew Carnegie, Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Michael Dell and so on and so on…
Spend as much time around people who are, at least in some aspects, living your future successes. How do they act, talk, think? When do they wake up, what do they eat? Most importantly, what is their worldview and understanding of what can be accomplished, then how do they set out to accomplish their greatest dream?
You Are Worthy of What You Are And Have
If you’re unhappy with how you look or perform, change. The idea is simple. The result, astonishing. Be better. Don’t just act better, stronger, or more successful. Be more successful. You are your only obstacle, and the only road through that obstacle.
To act as if you’re better than where you are, who you are, or how you look, won’t suffice. It will fade.
It isn’t authentic.
Remember, you’re not trying to be someone different. You’ll always fail at creating that persona. You’re merely being the best version of yourself right now, because you’re capable enough right now. To be the man you want to be, with the body you want to have, driving the car you want to drive, sitting next to the wife you want to marry, feeling the pure joy, happiness, and fulfillment that you want to feel as you wake up in the house you want to own, you have to be the man worthy of all of the above.
As it stands right now, I’m where I’m worthy of being. So are you. As you become your Self that is worthy of greater things, your reality will change. It won’t happen right away, but the power you’ll feel will. What you get done in a day, the battles you’ll win against the Resistance, and the fears you conquer, will mount like a bring being placed upon another brick, until the heights of your reality will be so high and grand, that the man you’d always wanted to be, is nothing in comparison to the man you have become.
Whatever your dream is, be the man who is accomplishing it, creating it, and realizing its fruition. Begin being now. The world won’t wait for you, so don’t wait for it to change. Be the essence of the change you want to create. And create.
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.” – William Hutchinson Murray.
