Mark Wahlberg in The Fighter has stayed in great shape for a lot of years. But how?
Ground-breaking idea: The way we look right now is because of the way we live right now.
Seems simple enough, but so many of us look for a quick fix instead of trying to tweak our lifestyle so it will help us get and keep our ideal physique. Forever. Even if we do get results with this quick fix, we soon lose them when we delve back into our usual way of living.
I’m not able to keep my ideal physique year-round because I know some amazing secret or because I take a magic powder, potion, or pill. I am able to maintain my physique because of my lifestyle. It isn’t a lifestyle of restriction. It’s one that allows me to enjoy the finer things in life while maintaining 6 pack abs year round. I eat the right things at the right time and I train hard.
This article will give you techniques to incorporate into your daily life that will help you:
- have more energy.
- build muscle while keeping body fat % low.
- increase testosterone levels while lowering cortisol levels.
- enjoy life by being able to enjoy the finer things it has to offer, but also maintaining your ideal physique.
How to get ripped. forever… By living the right way.
We’re not training for a show. We’re not fitness models, nor do we have any desire to shave our entire bodies, cover ourselves in baby oil, and prance up on stage in our underwear. What we are after is a strong, healthy, and ripped body that will help us live our best lives.
Binge dieting and extreme deprivation won’t help us sustain this physique. Only changes in our everyday life will.
Fact: we don’t have to live a life of deprivation to look great and live a long, healthy, vibrant life.
If you’ve followed this site before, you’ll know that I enjoy the occasional cigar, Scotch, vino, or pint. I like to enjoy my life but I also understand that I’m not going to enjoy life as much if I’m 50 lbs overweight and suffering from lung and heart problems. Therefor, balance has to occur in my life if I’m going to live it the way I want.
Like I mentioned earlier in the series, it’s best to take baby steps. When you first start you’re going to have to be bit more strict. But as these changes become routine, you get loosen up the reigns a bit, just like I have.
7 lifestyle tweaks to help you get ripped. forever.
1. Eat the same thing everyday
Seriously. Keep things as simple as you can possibly keep them. One way of doing this is eating the same breakfast everyday. I still do this, with very few exceptions. I have 4 eggs, 1 whole avocado, and I’ll throw in a couple strips of grass fed organic bacon every now and then as well.
My second meal is usually the same, as are my pre and post workout meals. I’ll change things up with dinner (my post workout meal is usually dinner), but then my before bed snack is again usually the same. If I try and get creative it usually takes a lot more time and it doesn’t taste any better.
The more us men rely on our creativity to make a last minute meal that will help us reach our goals, the more we’re going to eat crap that will hinder our progress. Make sure you make meals that help you reach your goal, but also taste great.
