Make it beneficial for people to be charitable. ~Chad Howse

Politicians who want to raise taxes don’t actually want to help because the taxes they collect do little – if anything – to help the people they claim to want to lift up with the tax dollars taken (yes, taken) from those who’ve EARNED their money.(Read This: Your Idea of Equality Isn’t Very Fair)

Here’s a radical idea…

By the time a tax dollar is used to help someone poor, it’s been cut by at least 75%. In short, most of the money we pay for taxes is wasted on pensions for our politicians and useless programs that help no one.

The term “help” must also be used loosely.

Since the “War on Poverty” began, poverty has increased. It’s also been round up and confined to communities that remain poor. You’re born there. You struggle there. You die there.

What’s missing, however, isn’t money. They’re given low income housing, food stamps, and welfare.

What’s missing is programs that help people move up a class, acquire skills, learn, and work. (Read This: Don’t Give, Teach)

Remove all government aid of the poor, and leave it in the hands of people who:

a. Actually care. And,
b. Make an actual impact.

That is, churches and entrepreneurs.

And make it not only non-taxable to give to churches and charities who use upwards of 80% of the money they take in to help the poor, but make it profitable. Have it as an option to give or to pay taxes, and then as a bonus make all money given to a charity that helps the poor non-taxable.

We don’t need more government.

I think we can all agree that it’s gotten far too big and useless.

We do need a greater sense of community.

So completely remove the government’s attempt at stopping poverty, and turn it over to we the people.

Make it worth our while to donate. Have it come out of the money we would owe in taxes. And let’s actually make a difference.

The more the government attempts to stop poverty, the more dependency they create, and thus, the more poverty they make.

It’s common sense. But when you have an entity that lives off of power – the government – it’s going to take something radical to change how things are done as well as cutting off its money flow.
