]]>Interesting outlook. But you’re ignoring what he went through and who he was doing it for.
Just look at the conflict in him in the Garden of Gethsemane, or in the desert. He was human and there was doubt.
You’re also ignoring that he did it for people who spat on him, hated him, betrayed him, and ripped flesh from his skin. He did it for you. He did it for me. Knowing what we have to do and actually having the courage to do it are very different things.
For the majority of our lives, in the majority of the things we do and the actions we take, we know what must be done, yet we do the opposite. You’re the same. You know work and discipline bring you what you want in life, yet that’s not what all of your time is spent doing. You know that sinning isn’t right, yet you sin – as do I in both cases. What was on the line for Christ, both in scope, but also in what would happen to him, the torture both physically but also the look in the eyes of his mother as she witnessed it, can’t be brushed aside because he was both God and man.
