If you want to help these “losers”, I would imagine it would start by not judging or insulting them as harshly. Or by creating a wall of separation between you and them.

Some people this approach works. However, with others it would difficult to build empathy, inspiration, trust, etc with such walls.

Again, that’s just my opinion : )

Philosophies, beliefs, standards – they shape the world buddy! And bedrock principles, since when has there ever been bedrock principles – principles shaped by mankind, based on their own opinions and beliefs? Just by stating “bedrock principles” tells me how naive you really are, not taking cultural norms and standards into consideration.

Yes, I do agree that we it comes down to fixed topics, like economical discussions about how much the financial meltdown in 08 affected us in terms of capital – but then it really has to do with numbers and only numbers, no? I mean as much as one would like to believe that there are bedrock principles that are either right or wrong, you cant completely turn your back on, as mentioned before, cultural beliefs, as thats what really shapes reality, whether you like it or not.

I do agree that the “its just your opinion” statement is pure bullshit, as they dont have the knowledge nor capability of defending their own statement. Yet I´m having a very hard time agreeing that there is an absolute truth within each aspect of whatever complex topics you chose, unless its relative obvious topics (economics, basic geography etc)
