]]>I second the Highland Park 12 for new scotch drinkers but even it may be a tad peaty for most. The scotch I started with that you could never go wrong with because it seems to be balanced in every way is Glenfiddich 12 yr old. Comes in green box and has a green and gold label. Has a golden stag logo at the top of the bottle. Hell, its beautiful.
But I do agree completely Chad, I think Highland Park makes the best scotch in the world (tad more acquired for some though).
]]>Thanks a lot man, just checking out those blogs. I’m new at this so need all the help I can get.
Re: the Ruby. No. It’s expensive. I got it as a gift from an awesome friend who actually works for them. It is incredibly delicious, I was surprised at how good it was, but start with some less expensive stuff, develop a taste, then if you want, splurge.
highland park 12 is solid.
as is Macallan Sienna.
It sounds like a kick-ass trip, and I’m excited to read about your travels. Do you follow any travel blogs? I’d recommend you check out Expert Vagabond or Around the World in 80 jobs. They’re great blogs for travel junkies and those who just sit and dream about traveling.
Regarding The Macallan Ruby, would you recommend it to scotch newbies?
]]>appreciate it Duke, and great name!
