"Our lives are under our control."

I haven't been acting like it enough lately, been giving control to other people, and looking outside of myself for happiness. To much rationalization for why I can't do what I know I need to do.

Thanks for the reminder, hope all is well.

Great article! You hit the nail on the head. It's too easy to look at what we don't have and complain about it rather than what we DO have and how we can build on what we have with effort, belief and through sheer hard work and determination. It's funny how I stumbled across your sight from looking at boxing tips video's on Youtube. I admire your philosophy and that you share so many great videos – thanks for that.
I think another part of happiness comes from giving back and I'm sure it is good for you to know how many people you are helping and inspiring to improve their lives.
I was made redundant from my job of 6 years last week and have been deciding whether to stay on the 9-5 rat race or to go into business for myself. I've a health & fitness diploma that I got 2 years ago but never did anything with out of fear that I wouldn't be as good as others in the field. Your videos and articles (along with some others) have helped make up my mind to give it my best shot so I won't regret never having tried.
Keep up the good work and I look forward to trying out some of your workouts myself.

Mark

Sometimes it's hard to get out of the victim/"why me?" mentality when things aren't going our way, but it's important to remember that we are always in control and responsible for the outcome. To think otherwise would make us completely helpless, and that's no way to live.

That's why he's your CEO. Impressive response. Impressive, also that you haven't found the guy.

Thanks for that. Pretty cool story.

In a meeting with our CEO about nine months ago we were discussing implementing some sales plans for growth. I'm not in sales, but was there for some reason. After our VP of Sales unleashed a broadside of ideas he had gathered from the sales staff, our CEO looked at him and said, "great, do you have a single person that can implement those ideas?" The answer was, "probably not". To which our CEO said, "ideas are like a$$holes, as we all know. Go find me a guy that can DO and not just THINK something and hire him. You have 60 days."

They still haven't found that guy.
