The goal of the 12 Virtues of Manliness isn’t to come out of it with knowledge or theory, but having lived each virtue, having won each challenge, and becoming a better, stronger, more confident man for it.
What’s great is that it doesn’t matter where you’re starting, whether you’re a Green Beret or a fella just starting to figure out that there’s a fire in his belly, one that needs to be fuelled.

To say the least, I was a little wary of the program. You see, in November I transitioned from being a Special Forces Operator to my civilian life. Early on in my career I was not an Alpha male, I was THE Alpha male. Through all of the deployments, injuries and the loss of my brothers and family, I had lost myself.
Now I am not talking about being suicidal or waking up in night sweats. I had lost my perseverance, my drive, and my confidence. Which is extremely hard for some to believe. When I tell people my story, they look at me with an expression that says, "How can a decorated Green Beret stumble? If he stumbles, how can I ever make it?"
The truth is we all need to conduct maintenance on our manhood and our livelihood. Without constant improvement and testing, we will never thrive. We will never lead the pack.
Three months ago, I took a leap of faith. I literally threw away everything I knew about diet and exercise and began following your program religiously. It has worked wonders, my friend. I still am not my old self, but I am making one hell of a comeback.

The 12 Virtues aren’t theory without action.
Each month we go over a single virtue, one that’s exercised by a single challenge within that month.
A man without a challenge cannot rise to become who he can potentially become.
I can read all of the books in the world but if I’m not challenged, if I’m not put to the test, I won’t live what I’ve learned.
However, virtues alone cannot help you become the man you can become. So, before we train our spirit, we must train our minds and our bodies through purposeful pain.
The goal, however, isn’t merely to live a virtuous life, but a flourishing life.
Virtues must be your foundation, but a strong body, mind, and business must exist for you to thrive.

THE AGOGE

To be at your best, to live out the life you want to leave, you must have strength and skill. A stronger you is a better you.
A stronger you is a more manly you.
Strength, however, isn’t enough. You need to be in better shape. You need to burn fat so your testosterone levels can thrive. You need to boost your testosterone levels through proper eating and optimal supplementation.
You need to do all this with a scientific approach, not trying to be optimal by simply walking into the gym and lifting weights.
Thus, along with the 12 Virtues, we train.
And just like the 12 Virtues, we use strategy, we’re not throwing darts in the dark with your workouts, we’re getting tougher, leaner, and stronger with each gym session.
We train using a mathematical approach that takes your strength on all exercises right now, and uses percentages and specific weights in every workout to maximize your results.
The gym is the perfect place to get tougher, to push through pain, to push yourself and extend who you are and what you can endure as a man. But results are king.
So, we’re using what’s been shown to be by far the best, most scientific training method around, while throwing in month-long sessions where we focus only on your weak points, or the areas in your physique where you want to improve the most.
The training system is called Daily Undulating Periodization, or DUP.
A few ways it pushes you in the gym to do more an be more:
- I show you how to calculate your 1RM without actually having to lift your 1 rep max (the heaviest you can lift for 1 rep) in all of your exercises.
This gives you a number that we can then base your workouts on. We know, through math, what you should then be lifting for 8 reps of your squat, for example.
This is incredibly powerful because you now have to live up to how strong you should be.
EVERY SET BECOMES A TEST, A CHALLENGE THAT YOU HAVE TO LIVE UP TO
You’re not guessing what weight you should use, but instead you know specifically what you should lift, so if you’re being a little bitch there’s nowhere to hide.


- You’re not constantly lifting ‘heavy’, that’s where the undulating part comes in.
You’re constantly changing your reps and sets while always having them in relation to that 1RM we figure out during the first week of your training.
This forces growth, both in strength and in muscle gains, which is insanely important for fat loss as well (in your fight to burn fat, muscle is easily your best friend as its incredibly metabolic and anabolic).

- We also focus on conditioning and spend a couple months on specific body parts.
A 3-month program is useless.
It’s not ‘useless’, but to go from one strategy to another 4 times within a year isn’t going to get you the results you want.
To spend a year of your life on a singular goal shows GRIT.
Grit is persistence over a period of time without flip flopping from one thing to another. This aspect is more of a plea.
Stop avoiding success. Stop being scared of sticking to one thing over a long enough period that you’ll see success.
