Reminds me of 2nd Timothy 1:7 “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]”. As men, we should not flee from battle. God has not designed us this way. We are designed to engage the battle, whether it be the flesh or the mind. Sometimes, my greatest daily battle at any given moment is to diligently work, and not surf the internet. Sometimes, it is to admit I’m wrong to my wife, and not let pride continue to rear its ugly head.
Sometimes my desires do come when I consume more media. I find myself pining for something I didn’t even know existed 5 minutes before. Those desires are false, and usually just a product of envy.
Keep up the good writing man. It’s good to see some other dudes pursuing true manliness in an age where our world is becoming more about femininity.
