My 4 year old son didn’t get one but they tried to give him a prize for participating. He wouldn’t accept it because he was too pissed off that he had failed. He said to me “Dad why do I get a prize, I didn’t catch one?” Couldn’t have been more proud. You can bet he caught one the next year! Proof to your point, the kids get it, the adults don’t.
