(This message was added in version 6.7.0.) in /home/chadhows/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6131I did a similar move to Kevin, but moved to a different continent – South America.
I was supposed to only stay for 3 weeks and move on to Thailand. I soon realized the error in doing that, as I was JUST getting into an established routine with new friends, work space, boxing/gym training and just feeling fucking SETTLED.
It gave my mind a chance to clear, once a lot of the logistics had been taken care of, so I could focus on the task at hand.
For that reason, I don’t consider myself much of a “digital nomad” but more of a settled expat, who loves getting into a solid routine, and making deep relationships with other semi-permanent expats and locals alike. It makes for a profoundly more interesting and fulfilling experience, I think.
Shout out to Kevin and Chad.

]]>Appreciate it! Ya not doing hostels. Plenty of alone time. I love my alone time. And great point, I know the person you’re talking about for sure, come across a few of them.
]]>I’m the exact same way man. Just have to settle and focus the mind and enjoy where you are. And enjoy your travels too.
]]>Getting yourself into a routine is so crucial. For the first two weeks I wasn’t settled here but as soon as I found a decent place with solid internet connection I established a routine. The effect has been huge.
Your point on being where you are is solid as well. When I first got here I found myself thinking about where I’d like to move next. Then I realized that it was fucking pointless to be thinking about the next place to live just yet because it was totally taking me out of the place I just moved to.
Enjoy your travels mate.
