Comments on: The 21 Steps to Becoming an Alpha Male https://chadhowsefitness.com/2013/05/the-21-steps-to-becoming-an-alpha-male/ Bringing Back Manliness. Thu, 30 Nov 2017 16:19:00 +0000 hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9.4 By: Leonardo Q. https://chadhowsefitness.com/2013/05/the-21-steps-to-becoming-an-alpha-male/#comment-27933 Thu, 30 Nov 2017 16:19:00 +0000 http://www.chadhowsefitness.com/?p=7059#comment-27933 Very good article. To be honest, coming from a different culture, I had a pretty different vision of what an Alpha male was for american people, and I did not like it at all and actually I sworn to never become one. I imagined an Alpha male was kind of a odious wealthy jerk talking loud, being pretentious and bossy, mistreating people, and being popular with ladies only because of his money and lack of fear and respect to talk to them and cheat them utterly . So I always admire more the inner power and quiet and silent force of a samurai warrior , as well as his humility, loyalty and sense of honor, and I prefer that model. Also I found really disgusting people being bossy to make people what they want to, rather than leading by example. But as you clearly show a new refreshing perspective of alpha male, I must say I will love this approach and I am not seeing any discrepancy now to be a true warrior and also and alpha male.

You mentioned the teaching of turning the other cheek…

If the incident is true.. Jesus’s being slapped and turning the other cheek, was possibly more an act of defiance and a show of strength

I’m not a Christian, but as a Muslim Jesus is a big part of my own religion.

In Islam we are taught that rather than forgive everyone for everything they do against us, we must weigh up the benefits and harms of doing such, for it may be more beneficial, not just for you, but also for the guy that oppressed you, that a just punishment is delivered to him, so that maybe he will turn back from the path he is on.

That’s inspiring man – thank you for your service. I get the video game thing, it’s like anything, it can be good or bad, I just think it’s having a negative effect on too many. Thanks for the comment

I got the emotional abuse from him and the physical from my mom as a child. It affected more than I though and even after realizing it was them projecting their problems onto me, it got easier. While I was in the military I ended up getting Chron’s disease and got out soon after. I went from 116 pounds to 180 at 5’ 11 1/2” maybe higher now as I have grown a bit since then and am now 34. I gained a lot of weight due to this disease but I took this life stealing disease and am still fighting. I am helping those who have similar issues and tell them what to use to help them out. I need help with the physical workout and fighting. I have been trained to kill being Securitu Forces but I am Intrested and started learning Wing Chung. I just haven’t been practicing much lately. No matter how bad we have it, someone always has it worse which is why I stopped letting me disease control my life. It has stopped me from doing the jobs I want but not my third choice of Automotive. I am battling laziness as school doesn’t hold my intrest as much as I’d like, even if it is a subject I am interested in. I was born a leader and it took me until my early adulthood to see that. I thought I was a beta or lower until my ex gf said I was an alpha and looked it up. Having your mind, body and soul on the same page let’s you overcome anything. Like in Mortal Kombat 3, knowledge is power. I disagree with the video game part. It was the only stable thing that held me together in my rough life. I bet what you were saying though. In a feminized world, videogames is one of our last refuges.

And that’s #8 and “Know your values” “Defend the defending” are way down the list?

There are laws in this land. You can’t possibly go around and get into fist fight for no reason. Personally, if I am walking into a gang afflicted territory where bunch of spider-tatted vatos and esses are blocking my way for no reason and threatening my life – again the operative word here is ‘life’- I will probably fuck them all up and I really don’t care how many of them are 1 or 100. I’d be much inclined to see if you would have enough courage to do the same. It is not about mindless fist fight but judicious one in life threatening situation.

Also a true alpha male is cognizant of the laws. He knows the law, adheres to it, and stands up for his rights when bullied by cops and even challenges them. Thinking of driving. Do alpha males drive recklessly and aggressively? It is grossly misconstrued. I drive and give turn signals even exiting parking lot and follow all the rules and break them too…creatively. Alpha != reckless. This also gives me leverage if a dumb cop pulls me up for no frikkin reason I know I can fuck him up in court because my slate is clean. Ultimately you gotta play by the rules and break them. Just like chess. You don’t go around making illegal moves and thump your chest bragging how you beat them.

Alphas can be manipulative too at times. Think of ninjas and Navy SEALS. Gone are the days of macho, meatheads.. Alphas are also highly intelligent, can think laterally (as well as literally) in nuanced ways.

Imagine you could anything you wanted. Have photographic memory, learn a language in a day, master any skill such as flying helicopter in weeks… would you then go around getting into a fist fight? No. Because you are so secure in your skin you wouldn’t need to prove anything or go against the grain needlessly. It is only when you are not satiated or not actualized you take path of greater resistance when you should take both route. I mean Buddha was also a frikkin badass as were the great yogic saints with telepathy. You don’t see them preaching violence? They are all into unconditional love, acceptance and compassion.

I think this macho, meathead idea needs to be stopped. A real, confident, secure alpha male has nothing to prove.

Thank you for letting me put my 2 cents. And I just had to chuckle at all the people pleasers below me who didn’t have the balls to challenge #8. You can be super positive and still point out mistakes.

Have a great day. (I might have been unduly harsh but great article all in all; perhaps I got triggered by the Western macho look.)
