I like this topic. I’ll get another article up on it in the near future. I have a backlog of articles at the moment, but I’ll get started on this one.
Appreciate the involvement in the site man. Keep it up, great to see people getting involved like you are.
]]>Hey Chad,
I got you point now. I think it was my fault to start with, I wasn’t reading it “tunnel visioned” in the first place!
But still, I (and I’m sure all of your readers) would LOVE another article covering the concept I discussed on my comment — we’d love to workout and keep working out until we reach our goals, but sometimes it can be difficult to focus in just ONE important task for a very long time.
It seems that you nailed this problem very well, as you have the body of your dreams and for what I can tell, a very successful business. Again, I’d love to see how you managed to get to the point you are today.
Drake.
]]>Hey Drake, you just missed the point a bit, or I clearly didn’t convey it well enough.
Think of it more of having tunnel vision within that one goal.
So… Focus on building muscle – and muscle alone – until that goal is reached… in fitness. So don’t get fed up half way through and change your mind, now wanting to burn fat, or simply get in better shape. The reason most don’t reach their fitness goals is because they don’t stay the course. They give up. Change goals. Quit programs – make sense?
Break that down a little more, as in having tunnel vision when immersed in each task…
So…. Don’t pick up your phone when you’re working (or working out). Don’t go on facebook. Don’t text, run errands, watch tv. Just do that single task until it’s complete. It’s a MUCH better way of doing your work, training, even hanging out with friends. Always be in the moment and limit ALL possible distractions.
Where you took the meaning of the article a bit different is that you took it strictly for the completion of that linear goal. To focus on nothing else until that goal is reached. My bad. I didn’t illustrate my point well enough, may need another article.
But does this comment clear things up?
Focus on one goal within a field at a time.
Focus on one task at a time… ever.
Let me know man, would love to clear that up. Thanks for the comment, this article needed that clarification.
Chad.
