Exactly!

With regards to the negativity, and the 'I'm just being realistic" talk from people close to you, it's tough because you know they care. But you have to realize that 99.9% of the people out there have never really gone after what they really want. They can't comprehend why you'd take a risk when you can live a safe and average life.

I've been told about a million times that I have a chip on my shoulder. I'm not saying this is the way to handle it, but if someone suggests an 'alternate route', or questions whether what I'm doing is the right path to take, I use it as motivation. I know they care, and that it comes from a good place, but I REALLY want to prove them wrong.

Great comment Kasey – thanks for that!

This is the stuff I love about your site. You do a great job of lighting a fire under my ass and getting me excited about turning my dreams and goals into reality.
I think the biggest challenge for me is the risk taking part. Just to add to what you already said, I think a major reason myself and others don't take risks is the lack of support and negativity we receive from those close to us who start sentences with, "I'm just being realistic" and encourage you to play it safe.. How did you combat this when you set out to chase your goals?
There is nothing wrong with being average, but I have no interest in being average! The thought that I won't succeed never even crosses my mind. I know I'll be successful, I just need to combine my hard work and sacrifice with some risk.

Thanks Joe, glad you brought up Marciano. He's my favourite fighter of all time.

How can a guy at 5'9, 185 lbs be the only undefeated heavyweight of all time? Hard work, and like you said, tenacity in the ring. He was undersized, but he worked harder than anyone.

I think you'll like this other article I'm writing as well, I'll let you know when it's up.

My favorite is Marciano. He made up for his lack of skill and boxing finesse by working harder than anyone else to develop pure power. Then in the ring, nobody was more tenacious or persisent. He never stopped moving forward.

Like your hero examples here as well. Great men all.
