After having followed 99% of Nate Green’s BFS program in the past year or so (I’m nearly done), I completely get what you’re saying.

It’s an ego-booster to realize that I can increase the poundages on front squats, reverse lunge, etc on a regular basis!

Another perk of working out my lower body is the greater endurance and strength that I’ve gained. It has helped me to improve my timing on running when I trained for about 8 weeks for a charity run of 5km, a distance that I’ve not done before, through work (which I completed in 21 minutes), skating over 12km on a whim, and more. The only disadvantage is that I’ve realizing that I have to forgo wearing four pairs of pants because they’re just too tight on me. Oh well; the pros definitely outweigh the cons.
