When did we as a society become so terrified of those with opposing ideological views? Fear is becoming the tool of choice by many politicians to provoke action rather than logical and rational discussion. Taking offense is the easy way out of an argument. Offense means one does not have to think through arguments while weighing possibilities and outcomes. It is the ultimate trump card against which no argument is valid while also affording no opportunity for growth and discussion. In short, it is the perfect philosophy for the lazy man.
